Today is a rainy, overcast day in Northern Ireland. To cheer us up our friends came over for lunch. I served perogies, cabbage rolls, homemade bread and apple dumpling for the meal. Our friends had spent two years in Saskatchewan Canada doing their Master's studies and thought that the meal reminded them of the time they spent there. Funny how we associate memories with food. We drove into Lisburn to purchase a much needed phone - the one in our home was from the ark and it had such a buzz in it that you would think we were living in northern Siberia. While we were there we also bought a mircowave. A couple of days ago I made a couple of rice bags that you can heat up in the microwave so I was anxious to see if they whould work as well as our trusty wheat bags we have used in Canada for years. The answer is yes - they hold their heat well. I think that I shall rewarm my rice bag and sit down with a good book.
